Renee Mazer was the creator of comedy based word builders including the Award Winning critically acclaimed and top-selling Not Too Scary Vocabulary. She was an honors University of Pennsylvania Wharton graduate, Penn Law Alumni, Mensa Member, Award Winning attorney, founder of High Score, a test prep company and a guest on
countless TV and Radio Shows including The Today Show.
Then she spent years in the travesty that is family court in America. Her case became part of a play that exposes the human rights violations taking place in custody courts. Instead of getting voodoo dolls of the court players, she chose to use her experience for good by writing this book and warning the world, “Don’t be like Renee, from
family court, stay the frick away!!!”

Renee Mazer is truly a Renaissance Woman: single mother of two sons, attorney, author, advocate, , Mensa member, motivational speaker, interviewee, businesswoman, humorist (aided by a breezy sense of the absurd) and creator of teaching programs covering vocabulary-building, love coaching and dating for men, and avoiding the perils of divorce. All her activities are based on detailed research and a wealth of personal experience. As an interviewee, Renee is attractive and personable; she has made numerous regional and national media appearances, and is a voice-over of her own teaching materials.
Renee is an Honors graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and is also an alumna of Penn Law School. She lives near Philadelphia, PA.
Her business career began with the founding of High Score, a test preparation company created to help college-bound students improve their potential SAT and PSAT scores. When she realized that her students could do far better on vocabulary, she researched the subject and learned that there was a lack of vocabulary-building programs that would engage students. To solve the problem, Renee designed, created and produced Not Too Scary Vocabulary. This unique program uses various memory-building devices (mnemonics) plus comedic references and humorous graphics. The entire program is designed to make learning new words easy and fun.
Although created some years ago, Not Too Scary Vocabulary is still generating response—it is that rarity, a publishing perennial that has become a classic. The program has sold tens of thousands of copies. Renee has received a wealth of thank-you’s from people who have improved not only their test scores but their business and personal lives through their newly-acquired vocabulary skills.
When many adults contacted Renee to ask for other vocabulary-building programs, Renee went a step beyond the usual and created Wordgasm. This program uses the same proven principles that made Not Too Scary Vocabulary a resounding success, but it relies on Renee’s delightfully racy sense of humor to add both fun and retentive values to vocabulary-building. Renee knows from experience that what gets remembered gets retained, and the success of Wordgasm with its edgy comedy proves her point.
In another brand-new learning program she is just introducing, Renee again tapped into her own experience to act upon the truth that all too many men do not know how to date. In her role as a love coach to men, Renee has created Get Love, Get Lucky–How to Find Love, Sex and Marriage, a five-hour program on four compact disks. It covers every facet of the dating experience, from whom to ask for a date and how to ask, to ways to end the evening, and how to create a positive experience for any man and his date. Again, Renee uses her offbeat sense of humor to, as she says, “…make learning the fine points of dating easy, breezy and fun.” The complete program covers every detail of how to move from first date to creating a meaningful relationship that achieves a positive outcome. A companion program, Love Chats, now in preparation, uses her interviewing skills in a question-and-answer format, to provide love coaching tips.
As for her latest project, Renee says: “You should always have a chicken in the pot—or at the least, always have a pot.” In the case of this project, The Dirty Secrets of Divorce, or What Your Lawyer Won’t Dare Tell You, Renee has just released a comic-style book, one she is more than qualified to write from two perspectives, as both attorney and as the divorcee in a difficult case with profound child custody elements. By using laugh-out-loud funny illustrations and offbeat poetic text to underscore extremely serious points, Renee has created a cautionary tale covering the entire often horrible spectrum of divorce. The book combines humorous takes on all aspects of the divorce process with which the unwary would ordinarily have to deal. In later sections, she presents detailed alternative approaches which may be far less stressful than the usual court-related processes. The text is concise yet instructive, and exhaustively researched. As Renee writes on the first page of her book, “To go through a divorce and come out with money, sanity, and a bright future, please visit TheMazerMethod.com.”
Among her many and varied activities, Renee has served as the blogger and a speaker for Instamour, an online dating company. She has also conducted a series of seminars, Marketing Yourself for Love, for the Professional Singles and Business Network, and for college fraternity/sorority groups.
